GFWC Citrus Heights Women's Club

About Citrus Heights Women's Club
The Citrus Heights Women's Club was founded in 1975, which means our members have been providing community service in this area since before Citrus Heights was even a city! With over 30 years of service in the community, the Citrus Heights Women's Club had become the backbone of charitable works in our local area.
Our club meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month. We offer 2 meeting times: at noon or at 6:00pm. The two meeting times help to accomodate the busy lives of our members. Whether you're popping in to the meeting on your lunch hour at work, or stopping by after work on your way home, we try to make sure that everyone can participate.

Even if you can't attend a meeting in person, our monthly newsletters and YouTube videos will keep you informed about upcoming events.
Our Projects
In our area, if you want something done, you call the CHWC! The projects we participate in are as diverse as our membership. Some of our projects include collecting bras for local domenstic violence shelters, making oncology bags for chemotherapy patients, setting up a free community picinic honoring local Veterans, and working with the City of Citrus Heights to put on a community leadership conference to teach non-profits how to effectively get involved.

Notable Accomplishments

Our club is known for putting on some amazing community events. Our yearly Chili Cook-Off and Classic Car show boasts a yearly attendance of over 600 people, and raises thousands of dollars to purchase Christmas gifts for families living in the local domestic violence shelter house. In only one year's time, we collected over a mile of bras to donate to local domestic violence and homeless shelters.

What Sets Us Apart from Other Community Clubs

Many clubs require members to make big donations or pay large monthly dues. Not so with CHWC! Our focus is on volunteerism. That means we ask our members to donate their time and personal skills -- whatever they may be -- rather than their dollars. This focus on volunteering means that membership is attainable for people from all walks of life, and all levels of financial means.

What Our Meetings Are Like

Every one of our members matter, and each has a voice and a vote in what our club chooses to participate in.  Members are encouraged to go out into the community and identify a need that needs to be met. In our meetings we discuss project ideas, and make sure that all of our members are well informed about how to get involved.
Members come to meetings to have a bite to eat with friends, have fun, and feel like they're making a difference. Coming to one of our meetings is completely free. Please join us!
